Building Performance Engineer I
Ambient Energy is seeking a "Building Performance Engineer I" with at least two years of work experience in energy, CFD, renewable energy, and/or daylight simulation. This position would conduct analysis to inform design decisions on commercial new construction projects and major renovations. Candidates should be proficient with DOE-2 analysis. Demonstrated capability in IES-VE, eQuest, EnergyPlus, Green Building Studio, RETScreen, CFD and/or daylight analysis tools preferred. LEED-AP or experience with LEED desired. Effective communication and teamwork skills are required to integrate modeling into design and make the results truly useful. BS in Mechanical Engineering or design discipline required, MS preferred. EIT or PE preferred. Building Performance Engineer II
Ambient Energy is seeking a "Building Performance Engineer II" with at least five years of relevant experience in energy, renewable energy, CFD and/or daylight simulation to analyze and recommend high performance strategies for commercial facilities. This position would liaison with architectural and engineering teams in an integrated design approach from programming to final design on cost-effective strategies that reduce energy use and carbon emissions while providing outstanding comfort and indoor air quality. Candidates should be proficient with DOE-2 with demonstrated work experience in IES-VE, eQuest, EnergyPlus, Green Building Studio, RETScreen, CFD and/or daylight analysis tools. Working knowledge of building physics, envelope, HVAC and lighting system options, building controls, carbon emissions, zero net energy buildings, measurement and verification, and renewable energy systems. Experience with LEED requirements as well as energy codes and standards required. Effective communication and teamwork skills are required to lead design teams to high performance facility solutions. BS in Mechanical Engineering or design discipline required, MS and LEED-AP preferred, EIT or PE required.
