ambient energy will assist the project owner and design team to establish meaningful, sustainable design objectives during a charrette that sets the stage for future collaboration. The charrette format and length is customized based on the project and the team members' experience with sustainable design. Charrettes range in length from a half day to two days. The format can range from a structured presentation and conversation to a round-table working discussion.
All charrettes include these elements: Getting to know each other and previous experience with sustainable design techniques; identifying the vision for the sustainability scope of the project; setting qualitative and quantitative sustainability goals and champions for each item; establishing features that are included in typical design costs versus those with a cost premium; and creating a preliminary, project specific LEED rating (or other rating system). We will establish goals for ENERGY EFFICIENCY and energy efficient alternatives, RENEWABLE ENERGY applications, schemes for DAYLIGHTING, and the use of GREEN BUILDING MATERIALS.
Your ambient energy facilitator will keep the conversation lively and directed. Your facilitator brings project experience to answer tough questions about real world applications, tips on implementing your plan, and knowledge on how to make your sustainability goals achievable. Whether you choose a stand alone charrette or SUSTAINABILITY FACILITATION as well, the resulting framework developed will guide the team through the exploration of design alternatives and give the owner an understanding of how to implement sustainable design and operations within his or her organization.
