sustainable project facilitation

From programming to construction, ambient energy facilitates and documents sustainable design, construction, and operation practices. We assist projects pursuing official certification using LEED and other rating systems as well as projects that want to incorporate criteria for sustainability without official certification. We have a proven process with the tools and resources to simplify design team, contractor, and building owner's responsibilities.

Beginning with a SUSTAINABLE DESIGN CHARRETTE, we guide the project owner and design team toward meaningful sustainable design objectives. We customize the appropriate criteria for the project to achieve the desired LEED rating and/or sustainability goals. An example of this is the Alliance Center, which used a combination of LEED for Existing Buildings and the LEED for Commercial Interiors.

We assign a project champion to each element of the project and we coordinate the efforts of the project champions. At significant project milestones, we review drawings, specs, and cost estimates to ensure that sustainability goals are met. ambient energy works with contractors to provide them with material tracking tools and to perform construction site visits to verify project goals are being met. We work with the design team and contractor to prepare documentation for submittal to the USGBC. Finally, we respond to any USGBC requests for further documentation and see the project through to LEED certification.

Our staff has worked on LEED projects since the LEED rating system was first developed. ambient energy has worked on 7 officially certified LEED projects, 18 officially registered LEED buildings, and 6 projects following an unofficial LEED scorecard.
